Here is the EXTREMELY short version:

Christina went home to the USA after her contract ended, to visit family & friends.

I had a 9-day vacation.

I stayed here, working through a hellish summer intensive at my old job.

both our home computers were remotely hijacked - a huge fiasco.

I had another 9 day vacation.

I landed a sweet, sweet new job with an old boss of mine. This involved me moving out of my apartment, to a nice, newly remodeled 20+pyoung basement apartment. So, I flew C back from the States, so she could help with the move & start job hunting.

We moved. Smile

I started working part-time at the new job; C job hunted.

We re-took control of our comps, and have re-rigged our security protocols.

Ch'u-sok: 9 days off, but we still had a lot of moving/settling stuff to do.

I went to Japan for a day-run (tourist visa).

Our school hired C for part-time, but she will also teach at a local private high school.

Part time work for me (still).

We just got back from a weekend trip to O-san & Ch'ang-won.

We do the Osaka visa run this coming weekend - 3 days. Sat & Sunday nights to party in Osaka. Woo-hoo!

I have 2 months off for winter; plans undecided.

And yes, I know I need to update my website. I am currently only teaching 10 hours a week, so that should be no problem.

Halloween undecided - Itaewon, Song-tan/O-san & Ch'ang-won are all possibilities.

Details will follow, if anyone who hasn't pm'ed us with concerns is/are curious.

For everyone who followed me through the job hunt, I lucked out - everything dovetailed for me fine. 2.8, new apt close to work, 3 months vacation, plus Kor holidays, and a boss I can count on (as I worked for him before).

G.

Dude, you're on a rocking salary. Can I ask, are you at a uni, or something else. If "else", how do you get such holiday?

I should be ashamed of my current contract. But after 5 years here, I've paid my dues.

Currently: 2.8/month; 2 months optional vacation in winter, and another month in summer. 9 days off for both Ch'u-sok & Sul-nal. Full severance. All Korean holidays, with none of that make-up BS.

I currently teach 12 50-minute classes a week: 4 of those with one student, 4 with 2, and 4 with 3 kids. American texts/materials only. Mondays, Wed & Thur off, & no weekends.

Ahh, international schools. The way to go, Brethren. Smile High hakwon salary + uni vacations.

Kate was the one who extended the invite down to my old school, and C & I had a great weekend. A new bar just opened there recently, and the city itself is all hustle & bustle these days. Saw some old friends (from 5-6 years ago), & made a few new ones.

We will be at kotesol & the get-together afterwards.

Regards,

G.

Thanks to you both - it is nice to be 'back.'

Rudy, as for the barbecue, I didn't make it back to the Republic yet - hope to do so around Xmas time, when you can really appreciate it. However, there is a funny restaurant near us - they do WONDERFUL USA-style bbq chicken & pork ribs, and have Miller on tap as well. You & the Mrs. Flyer need to see us over this way.

Regards,

G.

Well, you seem to be rather full of yourself. All puffed up and boastful. And what makes you think that this forum is an appropriate place to display your accomplishments? Send a letter to your friends, but don't waste bandwidth here.

Outta line dude ...

If he was an arrogant dude in person it may not have come accross so good, as it is, he's just sharing his reality, and plenty of people are interested ...
