OK, first off, I'm normally a pretty bright guy, but I'm bloody clueless about how this downloading thing works. I finally decided that I've given enough money to the entertainment industry that I don't mind downloading some things that I just can't get here. So I go and download bit torrent and go to http://www.youceff.com and try to download a few episodes of West Wing. They took like 8 hours to download and I was ready to see them...then I open up the first one and it's only audio. It's a .avi file and I'm using Windows Media Player.
OK, maybe that one was a bum file, then I go and try to download a snooker game that I can't find anywhere. It takes a few hours and then I go to play it and...it doesn't work.
Is there something I'm missing? Just FYI if it helps...I'm running a Centrino 1.4 256RAM and a 40GB hard drive, Win XP Home in Korean (I'm getting English in a month) and I'm pretty sure I downloaded the newest version of bit torrent.
Any help?

| You need to download some video codecs. The file that appeared only as audio in all likelihood had video, but your media player didn't have the codecs installed to view them. Try www.divx.com for starters. |

| Probably a codec problem. Do a serach on "Ace Mega codecs pack" and download it. It includes DivX and practically any other that you could ever think of using. Install the Pro version and you will be set. Oh yeah, it's also free. |

that has all of them...

The Kazaa Lite Codec Pack is laced with adware and spyware and is NOTHING compared to Ace Mega. Ace Mega has every codec anyone could ever dream of wanting and is one easy install with a control panel which can be accessed later. |

I never had a problem with it.. well if adware is there.. nothing a spybot destroy or adware search and drestroy wont fix for ever..
but I do agree ace is great.. I have that too.. |

Gentlemen, thank you for the help. I downloaded that Ace Mega pack and it worked like a charm. Watched the first episode of season 3 West Wing and can't wait to download more.
