anyone get an f4 visa or know of someone that had to do any time?
is there a specific detail that pretty much assures of service or does immigration base it differently from person to person.

remember a story a while back where an american got the f4, but then forced into the rok army with any warning.

whats the deal on this.

If one is still a Korean citizen then he can be drafted. Even if one is born in the United States, Korea may consider you a Korean citizen. The U.S. embassy says that you have to follow Korean law while in Korea. So, if Korea considers you a citizen then you can be drafted. First, you need to see if you are a citizen (registered in the family registry). If you are, then call the nearest consulate and they will tell you how to cancel your Korean citizenship.

keep hearing something about having to give up the korean citizenship before the age of 18 in order to be exempt from military.

this true?
