As most of you are all aware, Korean is going thruogh quite an econimic downturn. This is sad news for most business' and, indeed and it also hard on the education industry and in turn, our respective salaries.
Now, I am personally doing quite fine, but because I am married to a Korean, I have a genuine concern for my newfound homeland and her citizens.
Up untill now, I was unaware of anything I could personally do untill my wife told me about a curious economic supercharging tool. I am sure some of you may find this ineresting.
Well, the little missus is a real estate broker and Right now, the real estate industry is going through a real hard time. It is not a concern with us, because I make more than enough for the two of us(and her little brother and our two dogs). She is realitively new to the business, is doing quite well and I belive it is the perfect oppottunity for her to learn the ropes.
On the other hand, for those who rely on this as a primary means of income it is getting real rough. So, the manager decided to hire a "diviner" or something similar, Maybe a Shaman or something.
So, anyhow, the wife shows up at her office the other day to find it newly decorated with a pig's head in the middle of a large table surrounded by an abundance or fruit.
There was a woman who then proceeded to dance around the room chanting and moaning and driving out the evil economically negative spirits from the workplace thus insuriong a harmonious workplace. In a final note of Karmanic closure, tha lady took a chicken, tied its legs and wings and broke its neck. Kind of like sealing the deal I belive.
She then instructed the workers to place a manwon in the pigs mouth (To satisfy the proper dieties no doubt).
Afterwards, the woman took down names and birthdates and proceeded to tell fortunes. My wife being in wonderful spirits by this time was eager to comply and had her fortune told first. Here is a basic rundown:

Fortune teller:"You spent a lot of money last year"

Wife: "No, I spent a lot of money this year."

FT: "oh yes. Ypou spent a lot of money this year uo untill the summer>"

Wife:"Ugh... Yes."

FT: "You will not get married untill you are really old Your husband will be a bad man and you will not be happy.(maybe she got one thing right)

Wife: "I am already married now."(Granted, she is very young looking)

FT: "Oh yes, you are 28. You are old."

Wife: "Actually, all my friends like my husband very much, we get along great and I am very happy."

FT: "Um...You will not be able to money untill you are thirty years old"

Wife: "Thanks Rolling Eyes "

Well folks, there you have it. All your problems solved with a pigs head and a chicken sacrifice. Oh yeah, the fruit was delicious.

I sincerely hope that you made those mistakes on purpose, or due to lack of caring.

I am not one to jump on grammar and spelling, but it resembled one of my students' writing, and I couldn't read it all. Seems too much like work.

It is sad to hear that people are killing animals for this type of thing. You have to respect their culure of course, but killing only brings karmic debt. It certainly won't help to clear out any negative forces.

I meant "culture", not "culure". Sometimes my typing is less than careful.

Sorry for the poor spelling and grammar. I was on my way to work and thought I'd throw it out. Being an English literature major however, I should take more care in writing. That being said, I am a terrible with a KEYBOARD.

I see no need to help their economy. Their problems are caused by their own lack of flexibility, undervaluing the won, catering to North Korea, and for many other reasons.

One day they will fix it. But I don't think anytime soon.

I agree. I could not belive that in this dfay and age, people still resorted to animal sacrifice.
In retrospect, with notions like that still going around, no wonder the economy is doing so damned lousy.
