Hey, I can't seem to find anyone to answer this question for me:
Can you transfer pictures directly off your Digi Camera onto your IPOD?
Please help if you have one or know.
Thx! |

NO. The option that you are looking is called usb-on-the-go which implies a USB slave/host ability. iPod doesn't do have this capability and if it ever does, you will have to buy an expensive add-on module to use it. The newest iRiver and Archos harddrive players both have this option and there are plenty of posts here about them. Do a search if you would like to know more. |

Hey Jazblanc,
Appreciate the help a lot man. The Iriver & Archos are more than I am looking for. They are both up around 600,000+ and I don't want video capabilities. What else can you recommend around the 300,000 mark? Maybe, it would be smarter to buy a memory stick of a gig and just use it as I go from computer to computer and just upload all the info to them? They are very small and relatively inexpensive. Any other ideas? |

Try out this iAudio Player. It looks pretty promising though, it doesn't have the usb-on-the-go option built into it. Nonetheless, it has 20 gb so you can basically put your whole library on there.
Also, if you are thinking of just external storage devices which are ultra compact, you may want to look at getting an external portable hdd like the Anypak usb slimpack drive. I own one of these drives with a 60gb capacity and which is USB2.0 compliant. Be careful if you go for one of these because there are usb1.1 and usb2.0 models. |
