Can anyone tell me about any decent places to drink in Wonju? Heading there in a couple of weekends, so I was wondering if there might be any decent "hofs" or whatever. Having been there before, I fully realize that there is no shortage of thirst parlors in Wonju (or any Korean town or city) but thought there might be one or two good places that Wonju/Ganwon province vets might be able to suggest. Thanks. |

Wonju sucks but I'll tell you where it sucks less
Post Docs - in the market down town
Rodeo drive also in downtown
U2 bar in in new town - ask for steve, big Irish Canadian - drinks like a thirsty fish |

when i lived there, the two big ones were Post Doc's in downtown and Rock 'N Roll in the new part. I always thought Rock 'N Roll really sucked. U2 is right across the street and has a reasonable selection of beer for a decent price.
Never heard of Rodeo nor The Dragon Bar. Then again, I left Wonju in June 2002. |
