My parents gave me a converter set that allows me to plug things into various outlets from country to country. The problem is that my laptop power chord has a 3 prong chord end and the thing I have only supports a 2 prong device. What should/can I do?

If you can unscrew the casing, you could probably just remove the middle pin. It is likely to be an earth pin anyway and you could probably do fine without it. If you can remove the casing, the earth wire should be green and yellow or just green.
