I've been looking at a couple of possible contracts at schools in Bundang. I lived near Seoul last year, but never visited that area, nor met anyone who worked there.
Can anyone who is currently working there give me their impression of Bundang?

I like it here a lot. At first I hated the long stoplights, but you soon learn the system is very efficient for getting around. Bundang has wider streets -- more like an American city, for example. Most of the city is less than 10 years old and looks more modern. There are some of the better stores, like Carrefor, Lotte, Samsung, E-mart, etc. There is a Wal-Mart near Ori station. They have laws about things to keep it looking cleaner (like tall apartments must repaint every 2 years, I think).

Access to Seoul is quite good. A subway ride to Kangnam is about 40 minutes. Buses from Seohyun station reach all areas of Seoul in 20 to 40 minutes unless it's rush hour.

The people in Bundang are a plus, mostly. They are generally higher-educated and more people speak some level of English.

You'll want to go to Kangnam or somewhere else for weekend nightlife though. They have bars everywhere, but they're just sit and drink places. The nightclubs are for cheating married folk -- not us expats.

The air is much cleaner than Seoul, although not like the countryside.

I would agree Bundang is not a bad place, and near enough to Seoul.

I quite liked the area around Seohyeon station. The worst thing was trying to get a damn taxi when all the room salon customers were heading home. Yatap has a nice Italian restaurant and you can get some good food all around the area.

Yatap is dull as a doorknob but the samsung plaza area has some reasonable places to eat and a few semi expat bars that can be fun if you meet some OK people.

I rarely spent any time at the weekend there and came into Seoul instead. Pundang is OK but as another poster said it is a little dull. But at least the air is cleaner and it has a few nice parks and places to go rollerblading or playing basketball or whatever. And there is very little of the insane overcrowding that happens so often in Seoul.

All in all not a bad place to live.
