For all the women out there....

I'm quick to assume that the sexual heirarchy in Korea is the same as it was in Japan... foreign men want japanese women, japanese men want japanese women, but no one wants to date the foreign women. Similar with Koreans?

Keeping this in mind, whats the longest you've gone without sex, while being Korea?

(I ask this purely out of interest...I'll be in Korea with my boyfriend)

i'm not a woman, so I can't say from personal experience, but I don't think you'd have too much of a problem finding a guy if you weren't with the b/friend.

Foreign chicks don't have trouble getting laid here. Between the locals, the american miltiary guys and various other expat groupings there's something for everyone. Just like back home it's a matter of attuide. If you've got a back off vibe then people are going to back off.

also it somes down to.. do you want to get laid???
alot of foreign girls here they are not into one night sex. while some are..

its not a problem to get laid if you are half decent looking go to itaewon or hongdae.. if you are below average looks.. alittle harder but not impossible,, I guess its the same all over the world..
just know where to go..

There is a certain ammount of that kind of thing going on, and it's rough if you live in an area away from the US bases, and don't like Korean men.

Finding someone to sleep with - easy
Finding someone to have a relationship with - little more difficult

Am I the only Western woman who takes offense to this question? Yes I realize that Asian women are appealing to most men- what's not to like? However, I don't feel like a living breathing pile of sh** so much that I couldn't get laid (if I wanted to) just because I'm Western. I've only been here less than two weeks, and I've picked up on a lot of this hype revolving around Western women being ugly, and I think it's mostly a fallacy. I'll admit, when I pass some Korean women in the streets they giggle and talk about me and I have no clue what they're saying. I know my students think my freckles are strange and that I have a funny nose. My students and Korean co-workers also tell me I'm beautiful and I see both Korean and foreign men check me out. I'm not up myself, I'm just sure that if I wanted to laid I'd have no problem. I'm also sure the same goes for the other uniquely attractive foreign women in Korea.
To answer your question: My fiance lives in Australia. It's been 4 months. (probably partly to blame for my disposition Very Happy

I wasnt implying at all that non-Korean women are ugly (considering I am one) or should even feel so.

Dont go fishing for controversy where there is none, I was just asking a simple question. I know some foreign women find it difficult being a country where the situation is as such.

when i first arrived to seoul (with my boyfriend) my (famale, korean) boss told me that many western women have difficulties finding men to date in korea. the western men prefer korean women and the korean men also prefer korean women.

after thinking about it, i realized that it isn't because no one wants western women that (some!) of them may have difficulty finding partners.. i think its because

1 - many western women don't want to date (or jump the bones of) the kind of western men who want (by "want" i mean seek out) korean women and

2 - western women have not been socialized into fetishizing korean men the same way that western men have been socialized into fetishizing korean (or any asian) women

i realized, i don't feel sorry for the "poor western women" that my boss depicted, but i think that they are just being choosy. and there are probably lots of western men who aren't into korean women exclusively, and many korean men who appeal to/are appealed by western women.

anyway, since i have a boyfriend, i havn't had any trouble getting laid, but i don't think i would if i was single either.. i wouldn't attract men who like korean women as a rule (um.. because i'm white) but then again, i wouldn't be attracted to them either. same-same with korean guys.

anyway, just my 2 sense.

I think there are lots of Korean men that are attracted to western women, but a lot of them don't know how to approach us, and either come on too strong (the stalk and smother routine as a friend described it) or they're just tongue tied.

I do think a lot of women that have been here a while lose a certain ammount of self confidence though.
