The Canadian Embassy website lists nothing.

I called the British Embassy and was told there is a service at the cathedral next to the Embassy but not until Sunday morning.

Someone mentioned going to the War Memorial at Yongsan.

Any ideas? I want to pay my respects.

Yeah, I posted a thread a few days ago about going to the War Memorial.

It seems logical to me that going there would be appropriate eventhough I doubt that there would be any organised stuff going on.

I am going to be there anyway, perhaps see you?

Canadians have fought in wars? Wait, when was this? How could I have missed it? Was I taking a nap at the time?

It just strikes me so odd that in the West (for the most part) November 11 is the time to reflect on those who gave their lives and their time to a war, a really serious, somber holiday, and here it is Chocolate Covered Cookie Stick Day.

Yep adventureman, you sure are dumb. We fought in WW1 for three more years than Americans (we started in 1914, unlike you wimps that wiated until 1917), and WW2 for 2 years longer than the Americans (started in 1939). Also fought in the Korean War ... Sorry, just assuming that you're American.

Sorry, we skipped out on America's Wars of Imperialsim ... Viet Nam (although, may have sent some engineers or something like that) and Iraq. Yeah, yeah, I know, those wars weren't/aren't about American imperialism. You were just saving all good, God-fearing, deomcracy-loving Westerners. Rolling Eyes

This is a particularly inappropriate thing to say in this thread, during this week. Many Canadians (including myself) have family members who died fighting in wars, so your comment truly lacks tact. Another thread, another time, it might be just mildly annoying, but here?

Sorry, I guess I should keep my mouth shut and save my bad jokes for the other 364 days of the year.. For as many anti-US, anti-USmilitary Canadians in the current events forum remind me on almost daily basis, Canada in the last beacon of peace and stablity in the western hemisphere and can do no harm, especially when compared to the "evil empire"....

Check out the Australian Embassy website. http://www.australia.or.kr/
They might have something. Canada does have an area at the UN cemetery in Busan, so the Canucks have a right to be miffed at some of the less than appropriate comments made regarding their willingness to bear arms. Smile
