It's amazing how many mentally/physically impaired people in this country have been "hit by a car". The rate is like 98% for those I've met (at least, that's what their families tell me). Jesus, if I were a handicapped/challenged person in Korea, I'd never leave my home.

Why can't people just get real here? It's a shame and a loss for everyone involved, particularly the afflicted. Perhaps if Koreans told the truth once in a while, somebody might even have a worthwhile suggestion or medical advice for the poor victim of the "hit and run".

Shame on you, Korea.

i'm gonna have to back him up on this one. the rate is 98%. It's in the CIA world factbook.

Quote:
Percent of retards who have been hit by a car: 98% (remaining 2% hit by a bus)

what if theyre all hit by the same car? we really have to stop that guy.

Shame on you, Korea.

(i just like to end my posts that way)

Admitting it is a genetic problem will upset the families pure Korean blood, you can't have a disabled person in the family because that will bring shame to the blood lines, it must be an accident of some sort, so people will feel pity rather than disgust Rolling Eyes

I find it deliciously ironic that Koreans should inadvertently acknowledge their country's appalling traffic safety record in their attempt to "save face".

Is the OP suggesting they were murdered? I really don't know if I believe that. Drivers are so callous and arrogant (not to mention, just, bad at driving) in this country I find it very easy to believe that they would plow down handicapped people whose reflexes or movement weren't as fast as yours and mine.

Whoah!

Either you're taking the pisss and that was the funniest post I've read in ages, or you seriously misinterpreted my point. Either way, thanks for the s**ts and giggles. And no, my intention was not to be cruel and mock handicapped Koreans.

The way pedestrians here carelessly walk in front of moving vehicles without paying attention to their own safety is appaling. How many times have you been in a taxi and had a close call with a pedestrian, or adjashi had to come to a dead stop because some kid/adult/couple/family decides to risk crossing in front of you? How about on a motorcycle or scooter? Pedestrians here just don't seem to care...

OK... so what is it that you're suggesting? Your use of quotation marks implies that you don't really believe they were hit by cars. I don't see your alternate explanation, and in fact I find it very believable that they were hit by cars. Do I need to refer you to the Gallery of "Misused" Quotation Marks (http://www.juvalamu.com/qmarks/)?

Instead of admitting that their children have some sort of genetic disability, 98% of Korean parents will tell you that their handicapped child was "hit by a car". Got it? Rolling Eyes

You would have to be "hit" by a car yourself not to see what Mack was suggesting.

Word. With driving laws being optional, I'm surprised the No. 1 cause of death in this country isn't "crossing at a crosswalk."

That may be true, but much, much, much more appaling is how drivers don't respect pedestrians.
