				| Hello all... I`ve been offered a winter camp position in Korea and I`m waiting to look at the contract before I make my final decision to sign my name on the dotted line. I`ve never taught in Korea before, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice of what to look for in a camp contract. Any warning signs I should know of? Any recommendations about things I should clarify before signing? Thanks!

				| First, make sure it is legal. Will they give you a visa? | |

				| I'd be trying to make sure they had plenty of resources for you to use. textbooks, internet access for prep, perhaps access to a photocopier. Of course they could lie about those things. | |

				| Visa is essential. You can come and work at camps illegally, but there is a good chance you'll get busted. And that means no paye. If they are going to provide you with a visa then the camps legit, and in all probability you will get payed at the end of it. | |

Not that it concerns me, just trying to help the OP

				| I was offered a KW 3mil., officetel, winter camp gig in Busan last year from Ehwa (hogwon). I thought everything was legal until I siad that I have a permission form from my uni.
He: No, no. Too much money and time.
Me: Not really. I fill it out and get it signed. I'll even pay for it.
He: (Long pause) Well. . . Yes, but no.
Me: Ok. Call me if you change your mind.
 He: Right. . . bye.

 So much for being legal.
