Hello,

I tried the search, but couldn't find exactly what I wanted to know.

I'll be going to immigration in a couple of days with my boss to cancel my visa and get a LOR. Can I extend my 14 days exit order? If so, how much by.. and can I do it at the same time as cancelling my visa?

Cheers

I think you have to leave within 14 days. You can leave and come back the next day though on a tourist visa. Just take the ferry to Fukuoka and come right back. They just don't want you here on the wrong visa.

I think there are some exceptions. My boss fired me at the beginning of the month. He didn't go in and cancel my visa and still owes me money. I need to stay to sue him. I was told that after I filed my petition with the court I could go to immigration and have my current visa extended. I'm still a bit unclear about this though. I have to head to the legal aid tomorrow. I think as long as you can prove some legitimate reason why you need to stay in the country it could be extended. Just wanting to though doesn't constitute a valid reason.
