I have a keypad entry on my apartment. It's really easy to change the code, but my manager still has some kind of master key to access my place. I have nothing to hide but I definitely don't like the fact these people can access my place any time they damn well please. Is there a way to reformat those things so that only I can get in? My employer has come over several times unannounced. I just wonder how many times they dropped by and I wasn't there.

The only way is to add your own lock. There's a master key and there's no way to stop the owner from getting in. I suppose you could put glue in the hole where the master key is supposed to go.

I always add my own lock, or change the current one. To drill and add a new lock will cost you around 60,000 last I checked. It's worth it. You may find it cheaper elsewhere.

Here's the thing: It's NOT acceptable for Korean bosses to just enter, even if they are renting it for you. My Korean wife is surprised ever time I bring this up.

Add your own lock.

My electronic keypad lock was 100,000 including installation, and worth it for the peace of mind it bought me. Before you do that, try doing what Victorology suggested and block they keyhole. I know you can buy super glue in Korea (seen it in E-Mart), and that along with liquid cement (haven't seen it in Korea, but also haven't looked) should more than do the trick.

If for some reaons that doesn't work, then it's time to buy your own lock.

But if the boss catches him naked on one of his unanounced visits, he'll want to come over more often just to check out his package. They like checking out packages here. That's why they invite you to saunas.

You can reprogram your electric door with keypad.

Have a korean friend read the instructions for you. It's usually written under the battery panel, on a sticker...well, it's somewhere. IF you don't see it, ask someone from the apt.

You probably need the master key to make any changes though.

So couple it with a penchant for continually sizing up your "ring-finger"

What is the purpose of him going to your house? Did you ever ask him? (not that he would tell you the real reason)

Add a circular bolt lock with one of those round keys. Again, new lock plus installation might be around 60,000. If you already have a lock like that in there, you can get it done for around or under 15,000.
