Are you just looking to fill 45 minutes of discussion time?

Personally, I feel I need to mix it up to keep them from getting bored.

For discussion, look into "Teen Talk" 1 and 2 by Vorhees.

If they are at a low to mid-level,and you want to mix in some listening and other stuff, try the GET REAL! series. That mixes in enough activities in a chapter to keep them from. You have to buy the Teacher CDs though -- the CDs in the back of the book only have parts of the book.

i have an english conversation class with older kids that i just took over from another teacher. she had a great set up which might help you - one week i do debates where i use TOEFL essay questions (the agree/disagree questions - split the class in 1/2) and the other week i do news articles using BBC website, they have a "learning english" resource section where they choose a news story every week and provide an abridged version highlighting difficult vocab, i do this one then give them the full text of the article and conclude with discussion.
another teacher also teaches the class and he does speeches with them, giving them time to practice and them present.
i would also suggest, especially if they're older, to ask them if there's anything they'd like to study - you'll probably get blank stares, but it's worth a try.

I use the "True Stories" series as a supplement in one of my intermediate-leveled middle-school classes, and I enjoy teaching it. The series is wildly available, including Kyobo bookstore in Gwanghwamun.
