Hey there, just wondering if anyone can tell me the deal with when your getting your visa from within Korea, meaning doing a visa run. First do you need to give your original degree to your school before you do the visa run, also do they need your passport beforehand. I'm just wondering because I need my passport all the time, and really don't want to have to give it up for a week or two if its not necessary....can anyone tell me what documents you need to do the visa run, what is needed by immigration before you do it, and how long they take completing form etc before you do the run.....One more question, when you go to immigration to get your ARC how long do they keep your passport for? Is there any way it can be done in a shorter period of time that 14days?
Thanks for any information!!! |

Depends on what immigration office, but I think it took around a week for me to get my ARC last time. |

Your school does not need your passport. They just need a photocopy of the photo page.
They also should not need your original degree. A notarized copy and your sealed transcripts should be sufficient.
Issuing your blue paper (that's the document you need to get your visa) takes about a week, although it may be faster or slower depending on your immigration office. It would be a good idea to get your school to double check with the immigration office in question.
No idea on speeding up the ARC process, I'm afraid. |
