I've just read about a new camera phone. To be frank it sounds too good to be true ! For example :- 100 mega pixels - could that really be correct? 1.5 gigabyte hard drive ????????

What do other people think ?

Samsung Electronics on Thursday released the first-ever mega-pixel camera phone with an internal hard drive. The SPH-V5400 boasts a 1.5-gigabyte hard drive that far outruns conventional rivals' 100 megabyte capacity, and can store up to 300 MP3 files or 1,000 images. It will retail for around W750,000.
In addition, the phone is equipped with a high-resolution (QVGA) 2.2-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) and 100 mega-pixel camera. New sound functions add an extra layer of quality to its ability to store 3.5 hours of video.

I'd believe the 1.5G hard drive way before I would the 100 megapixel camera.

And yep- here's the story from the Korea Times

Quote:
South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics on Thursday introduced the world's first camera phone with a 1.5-gigabyte hard disk drive that can store as many as 1,000 photos.

The SPH-V5400 model, equipped with a 1-megapixel camera, can save up to three and a half hours of video with its camcorder feature, Samsung Electronics said in a statement. Its price is set at below 800,000 won ($767).

Yes, 1 mega pixel is much more believeable. I should have realised that a couple of extra zeros had been added. I've come across that before - some Koreans have difficulty converting Korean numbering to Western numbering.
