Yes, I expect this thread to sink into obscurity almost immediately. But I have to try at least.
I am expecting to move to Korea (exact location as yet undeteremined) by the end of Feb. 2005 to teach ESL (surprise). Since I have been involved with a certain satisfying (though not conventionally 'popular') music and dancing scene here in the Pacific Northwest for a couple of decades, I like to have some hope (however faint) of finding people with similar musical interests when I get to Korea.
I guess I might as well start asking around now. Such knowledge could even influence my choice of teaching gigs.
So, if you are a musician in one of the aforementioned genres or know someone who is, I would really really really (yeah, I know that's redundant) like to hear from you either by your posting here, PMing me, or both.
Cheers. |

Hey howdy- I'm afraid I left my harp and pennywhistle at home, but I have a recorder that sounds quite alright, and what's more, can play in more than one key. I'm in the Yongin area, within reach of Seoul, and I know that you will meet a few folky fans, so don't you worry.
Try PMing Harpeau, as he is definitely in the know about Celtic/folk events in Seoul.
p.s. if you've got a bodhran, I'll be your best friend. |
