I think for my next contract I'll give SAT-prep hagwons a shot. I'm thinking that I'll get a nice change of pace, get older, hopefully more serious students and probably more money. From what I've gathered most of these places hire gyopos or Koreans who have attended top-notch American schools, but I think I've got a shot as one of my very few talents is my ability to fill in little multiple-choice bubbls.
My problem is that I know the schools are out there, but I haven't been able to track down more than a handful of their websites and just about the only one's I've seen on job-posting sites have been offering part-time jobs. Any help with that or general info about SAT hagwons would be greatly appreciated. |

I work at a SAT/TOEFL prep hakwon. It's a pretty good place to work, but I've got pretty good management and lots of supplies at my disposal. They're worth checking out, but I'd also recommend checking them out and seeing how long their intensive sessions are, since that's the major gripe with my job. I have about 4-5 months of intensives per year.
л (overseas students) are great and there's a lot of them at my school. Generally really friendly and not as odd as the local teens can sometimes be. |

generally they are more motivated, but you still get the occassional rich kid whose parents forced them to go. (they suck, and can really disrupt a class unless you take contol of the situation. |

Thanks for the info. Any idea how I can find me some SAT hagwons to spam my resume at aside from wandering around Kangnam? They don't seem to advertise on Dave's much and since they seem to hire mostly Koreans and gyopos they must have alternate means of recruitment, but I don't know what they are... |

Really couldn't tell you. I was hired through a recruiter, but he was surprised by the job as much as I was, and the other recent foreigner addition did a walk-in and was subsequently hired. |
