Most Prostitutes Made 3 to 5 Million Won a Month
Seven out of ten Korean sex workers were making between W3 million and W5 million a month before the government's anti-prostitution law came into force, a report published Wednesday said. The report was published by the Hanteo Workers Union. According to the report, of 504 working women who responded to a survey in October last year, 68.7 percent said they earned an average of W3million to W5million in the month before the bill.

Thirty-six percent of respondents said they earned W3 million to W4million, and 32.7 percent said they earned W4million to W5million. Another 15.5 percent said they made W2million to W3million, and 14.9 percent said they earned more than W5 million. The majority of respondents, or 73 percent, were between 20 and 26 years old. More than half (56.8 percent) had finished high school, but 38.7 percent only had middle school education, and 4.5 percent were graduates or had dropped out of college.

Prostitutes, drug dealers and gangsters graduated from those highly valued western universities, right? Drug dealers and gangsters regularly deal with parts of the Korean bureaucratic system as foreigners. They have the opportunity to go to the labor board to resolve conflicts in salary payment.

for once, market forces are not out of line morally. those poor girls deserve to make some money, by god they earn it!
once again... english teachers in korea have it EASY. in the grand scheme of things you should think yourself lucky, and if you don't, get yourself down to incheon airport. simple as that.

Well, that's pretty funny, but they're different jobs.
Hoes get coerced and bullied by their mafia bosses, threatened, beaten, pushed around. Then there are the customers to please, 'or else'. Different world, very dark, under the table. Shadier than the shadiest haggie. There's no comparison, really.
Plus they age quickly. Really fast. It ain't easy being a hoe. It's like the bottom tier. Can't compare being a pro and being an English teacherer.
But it's pretty funny to try. Kind of absurd, really.

Of course prostitutes make more than English teachers. That's true almost anywhere else in the developed world! I knew a chick when I was in uni that was an escort/stripper. As an escort/stripper in Canada, making $100k+/year is easy if you've got a nice body.
