|
|
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I can use my Kookmin Bank card in Thailand to withdraw money. It says "Cirrus" and "Maestro" on the card. It also has the "International" word in the left hand corner. I'm not sure what these words mean though.
Thanks to anyone who can help. |

There is a longer thread on this in one of the FAQs.

Mine didn't. Also KB International.
I checked maybe 5 different ATMs there and it just kept coming up with a message saying "Unable to contact your bank"
Take some extra cash just in case you run into the same problem. |

| I've used my KB International ATM card many times in Thailand. I've never had any problems...yet! |

What time of day were you trying to take out the money? It won't work all night. Mine has worked in Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan. |

| Mine worked. It also worked in Canada but only during the hours that it would work here. Between 8:30 and 11:00 Korean Time I think. So that meant I could only use it at night or in the morning in Canada. Thailand is two hours behind? |

| It should work until about 10. Thailand's only 2 hours off. You can use Kookmin machines until 12 here. I definitely used mine after 8 there. |

| I'm surprised a Korean bank card will work outside Korea. I've used my Canadian one in several countries though. Never tried a Korean one. Just assumed it would be pointless. I think I still have some cash in a HANA bank though, and the card, so I will give it a try. |

You've got to have an 'international' card. They don't all work. |
