I have just been struck with a deep desire to learn the sitar. Any hints as to where I could study sitar would be welcome. |

The sitar is generally played by old "guru" types. |

if yu are serious about learning sitar i can refer yu to a good teacher in india. if yu were in busan i could teach yu... but yu will need an instrument. that will be the hardest part. i do not recommend buying one without some very good advice on quality of instrument. basically yu gotta go to india.
there are some schools of indian music in the states, and also one in sydney.
where are yu?
sitar is a very rewarding instrument but a steep learning curve. is your interest in classical hindustani music or modern styles. i play classical. |
