From Jan to Sept 2004 around 2.25 billion 360 ml bottles of soju were sold in Korea. Around 50 million population. Per capita each Korean drank approx. 45 bottles of soju in the first 9 months! Gives me a headache just thinking about it. Cheers Korea!

1 bottle of soju is 360ml and 23% alcohol.

So 3 bottles is roughly a litre of 23% booze.

That means 12 bottles of soju has the alcoholic content of a one litre bottle of Smirnoff. Roughly.

Drinking any more than one bottle of vodka in a sitting is really asking for alcoholic poisoning. Death is possible. Or at least a fuckid up liver.

We Irish may be drinkers but we're not stupid!!! (Yes, I read the article was a joke...just making a point)

Has anyone heard about what soju is actually made from?

I have heard it is pure chemicals...and really bad for you.
