| I finished my job the Friday before last at a huge chain. I confirmed and re-confirmed that I had up to 2 weeks to leave the country, and the boss and all the other folk with impressive titles and no real responsibilities agreed. The following Monday I went to immigration to find out about a student visa (I recommend visiting the Gwanghwamun branch - dead quiet...but it seems you have to speak some Korean). They said I was in triouble cos my visa had finshed already - the issue was I didn't have an out-going ticket! Apparently I had to have this already, before my visa expired. So a few days later I bought one, returned to the office and then I had to have a dictation lesson - writing out a visa extension application cos "I didn't understand", etc...I never knew we had to have a ticket before our visas expired...I leave for Japan tomorrow... |
