I knnow there is a lot posted on this subject but i have read through much of it and still do not know where I am going wrong. Maybe I am missing something basic that everyone else has done.
Basically I want to download movies/tv shows from the likes of uknova.com and suprnova.org.
when I download a box pops up with this message:
"problem connecting to tracker <url open error (10060 operation timed out)"
Could someone tell me in a step by step way how to download these movies etc...Assume I know nothing...ie: start with turn on the computer
any help appreciated:) |

The Bit Torrent thing has a few more steps to it than regular Kazaa-type programs.
Here's how I do it.
Download and install a Bit Torrent program. I use the BT part of e-donkey. It works fine for me. Get e-donkey here,
http://www.download.com/3001-2196_4-10311701.html?idl=n
When you have dowloaded and installed e-donkey you should go to the websites you mentioned. uknova.com has a lot of British comedies which keep me amused.
Click on a TV show you want.
A pop-up will ask you if you want to save the file. Click save. The website will then download a very small 'tracker' file. This takes just a couple of seconds. Another pop-up will then ask the same question. Click save again.
This should start the real download of the actual TV show in your e-donkey. You can look at the progress of the Bit torrent files by right-clicking in the e-donkey transfers page and scrolling to "plug-ins" and "view my active torrents".
It was new territory for me too... But it's worth it! The stuff you thought was never available on the internet can be got with Bit-torrent.
e-donkey is really good too for rare stuff. |
