does anyone get those here? i'm more susceptible to them, genetically, than other folks i think...
but they've been worse and more consistent in korea than ever. i've been here eleven months and i look like a zombie junkie.
and this is whether i'm drinking alot or not at all, exercising or not at all, sleeping well or insomnified. therefore i'm thinking it's environmental.
any clues? is there a doctor in the house? |

I have terrible black circles too. It looks like i have an abusive boyfriend, or i sleep maybe an hour a nite.
My only solution thus far is tinted eye glasses. Thank god there cheap in korea. |

Yeah, I've actually had the same problem since I've been in Korea...massive purple bags under my eyes. My goal is to double the amount of vegetables I eat and add an extra hour of sleep a night. I think it's working because I'm looking quite a bit less zombiefied. |

Nice to see someone bring this up... At least I'm not the only one who suffers from this affliction. Seriously, sometimes I'll look at my eyes in the morning and ask my girl how she can even wake up next to me ...
Do you notice that they come and go, though? Usually I only notice it in the morning, especially after a lousy sleep night... An entire day after a boozefest of course... Also, if I'm just in a generally bad mood. Definitely never noticed them so much when I was living at home, but that was three years ago. Maybe it IS Korea- I certainly didn't work and drink and (not)sleep like this in Canada..Then again, maybe it's not Korea, maybe we're just gettin' O L D...
Time to follow John Kerry and get some Botoz treatments? |

haha, peemil.
Biotherm and Clinique both make an ointment for "Dark circles and puffiness". they have it in their men's line as well.
i got a little free sample in the department store once...but i have never really had dark circles under my eyes...so it MUST work. |

Hi,
I suffer also. It's a pain, especially there where everybody that knows you feels as though they have the right to comment about your tiredness.
I think it is genetic also.
The coverup works, you just have to be careful you don't get the opposite raccoon face.
The eye creams never really worked for me, just ended up being a waste of money.
A tan helps for me
I've also tried countering with lighter eye shadows but I rarely wear this kindof makeup. I tried a white eye pencil though, I wasn't sure about the whole look ---
What has really helped:
1) quit smoking- drastic difference.
2) evening primrose oil (3 times a day) I think they would sell that at a larger pharmacy. This oil has something called gamma linolenic acid (GLA) also found in fish oil or borage oil. This oil helps PMS/PMT, arthiritis, acne, ecezema and gives your skin a glow. IT is great!!!
If you decide to do this, you are looking for 1000 mg, with 100 mg of GLA, like all herbs it takes some time to see the results, so be patient.
Good luck
Cheers,
Chonbuk |

funny, I thought my dark circles, which appeared a month after arriving in Korea were an anomaly! I figure it's from dehydration from not drinking as much hydrating fluids here as I did back home, too many dehydrating fluids, plus all the salt in the food here. They've started to go away now that I'm drinking 2L of water a day, though I now have to take hourly bathroom breaks. Small price to pay for beauty? |

The thinner your skin the more likely you are to have dark circles, some people, like me, have them permanently. Glad I'm a girl and wear make-up |

I've read that MSG, which Korean food is loaded with, can contribute to dark circles under the eyes. Could this be the reason I suddenly got them for the first time in my life after coming here? |

If you want that hint of debauchery, dark circles under the eyes, get an expresso machine. |
