Some of my friends are coming in town for both X-mas and New Years. What would be the best thing to do on those days? This is a question for those who have been in Seoul for at least a year. I'd like to avoid the utter trashiness of Itaewon if possible.

I'm in the same boat. My xmas plans have since changed, and I'll be in Seoul and am looking for info on where the xmas dinners are at.

I don't know much about the Gecko's thing, and really prefer staying away from Itaewon for any reason. But there's gotta be hotels that are putting on christmas functions and dinners. I've been surfing the net about this, over the past few days, and can't find squat. The GF isn't getting much from Naver, as well.

I suppose that I'll have to get off my ass and actually call hotels, I s'pose.

Anyone else heard of anything non-Gecko's for xmas dinner?

I called up COEX Intercontinental Hotel to see what they are doing for xmas, and after being re-directed to half a dozen people who were too shy to speak english to the foreigner, I got ahold of someone who told me that tix cost 50,000 Won for a lunch buffet and xmas-related activities, on the 25th, from 11-3pm. More of a kid's function, sounds like. No turkey in the buffet.

Anybody know if the USO is doing anything?
