| Well...I used it last year and it sucked @ss. The range was pathetic. Even in the next apartment it didn't work very well. I find it hard to believe that so many Koreans are using a technology that doesn't seem to have all the bugs worked out of it. I used KT btw. |

Range? Next apartment?? The article cited in the OP is about websurfing over your mobile phone. As long as you have a signal, you should be able to access the Web, no?
Were you thinking this was about home wireless networks? |

Nearly One Fourth of Koreans Use Wireless Internet
The number of Koreans using wireless Internet services has surpassed 14 million, according to a survey conducted by the National Internet Development Agency of Korea (NIDA) that was published Thursday.
The results of the survey taken in September on 3,103 households across the nation revealed that among mobile phone subscribers over the age of 12, 14.5 million, or 40.2 percent, have used the wireless Internet at least once over the last six months.
NIDA explained that this represented a 4.1 percentage points increase, or 2.54 million people, from June 2003.
Broken down according to gender, it was discovered that a higher percentage of women (41.4 percent) use the wireless Internet than men (39.3 percent). By age, an overwhelming percentage of those between the ages of 12-19 used the wireless Internet (84.4 percent), followed by those in their 20s (62.7 percent) and 30s (34.2 percent), revealing that the younger the individual, the more likely he or she is to use wireless Internet.
Whatever the case Wireless internet for computers sucked when I used it and was highly unstable. I suppose for phones it would be pretty good. |
