What kinds of techniques do you guys use? I'm really interested, so please reply! I have classes with students of different levels, so I try to pair the weaker students with the stronger students, and break-up cliques. Then there's the problem with different status levels (older men who have a hard time speaking vs. younger men who have an easier time with English. The younger guys don't want to step on any toes, so they don't volunteer answers because they don't want to show their senior up. I don't have any women in my classes, by the way). I try to make my classes fun, and I think a good sense of humor helps, but I really want to know if anyone has successfully conquered this problem. Please give me your input! Much appreciated! |
