Dear all.
Yes, this is another lame attempt to find something when one knows not how to get solid information.
The two shows in question are Happy Together and I think it is called the X-men.
Happy Together has five people learning traditional songs and when one makes a mistake they drop a pan lid on all of their heads. I don't understand a word but it is funny to watch just the same.
The second show is more of an enigma. I have been TOLD that is the title but basically people are asked questions and if they get the answer wrong, a frying pan whallops them in the back of their head. Again I have never SEEN this show this is merely what I have been told.
I don't understand the obsession with Korean game shows beating people about the head with culinary instruments but it is extremely funny. I mean could anyone imagine a show in Canada or the US where contestants actually get whacked in the squash on TV???? Priceless.
So yes, days, times and channels would be appreciated. Given my penchant for this sort of thing if anyone has any other suggestions (aside from get a life man, I KNOW that one) I am clearly open to them; so to speak.
Cheers,

Funny as in it makes you want to rip your eyeballs out of your skull and throw them at the TV if that would only make it cease to exist? |

Corporal thanks so much for your input and insight I will treasure your advice for all of ten minutes.
Try to help or do me the favour and leave me alone. If my thread is neither interesting or in your opinion foolish, then please do me the courtesy of ignoring me.
Thanks anyways.

I would recommend surfing all channels around 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
If I have to choose between watching a Korean drama, Korean news, or Korean comedy gameshows, I'll choose the game shows. They are amusing, and often have a nice mix of hotties. |

Dare I admit it, but I love those 2 shows!! You can understand 90% of the show without knowing a word of Korean!!
X-Men is at 6 pm on Sundays on SBS
Happy Together is at 11:05 pm on Thursdays on KBS2
The X-Men game with the frying pans hitting their heads is different from how you described it. It is a rythmn game where you have to say someone's name and a number from 1 to 4. That person then has to repeat their own name that number of times, then say another person's name and a number. You get bashed on the head with a frypan if you lose the rythmn or say your name a wrong number of times.
(They played the same game on a Japanese TV show 2 years ago and then they copied it for the X-Men show here in Korea - but don't try to tell a Korean person that!!! Any Korean could tell you that Korea invented everything and Japanese people are all bad, terrible, despicable, horrid....need I go on...?) |

To ajuma: I do have some Korean friends, but they generally don't watch a lot of TV. That and as you can see I messed up on the discription of the one show, so clearly my own ineptitude would not help my Korean friends give me accurate information when I give them false discriptions. I blame myself.
Phaedrus and Goro-chan: Thank you for your input I will surf AND jump on the channels as you perscribed. I agree with the game shows you can basically figure out what is going on. I mean I got sucked into Love Story In Harvard but now they are no longer at Harvard!!!!!!!!!! So much for some English TV.
I really want to tape some of these shows to send back to my family and friends. I want them to see why I willingly watch tapes of shows that are 2 years old. That and I don't care what people say, contestents getting their melons bashed by pot lids is always funny!
Thanks for the advice everyone.
Cheers,

I really like Happy Together because they have to repeat themselves over and over and there are subtitles so one can read along. I mean that and the two hosts, well, I think they screw up on purpose sometimes.
