Hi All,
I`m going on a Winter Camp next week and I need to go to Immigration to inform them. Does anyone know what forms are needed to fill out (I am on an F-2-1 visa) and the documents needed.
Also, the camp starts on Sunday and I would need my passport back before then, how long does Immigration hold your documents before they approve you going on a Winter Camp.
Thanks in advance |

Your camp needs to call ahead and get this information. They have certain papers they must provide, including a signed contract, a letter from them, etc., as well as a school release to do it if you are currently under an E-2 with another school.
You will have to go there and leave your passport for up to a week or 10 days. Also there is a fee -- I know you have to buy a stamp for like 10,000 won plus maybe there is more? Can't remember... its' less than 70,000 and perhaps it's nothing above 10,000.
Side note: They told me it would take a week, but they actually finished mine within 24 hours. I decided to cancel the contract with the camp the next day, and when I went to immigration to get everything back, they had already finished my card. |

Everything Derrek said with one exception. If you get there first thing in the morning they will often do the work then and there while you wait. I was there at 9AM yesterday and was out by 9:25 with the changes on my ARC finished. |

I was also there yesterday and they are keeping hold of my passport and ARC until January 7th! The camp starts before then but apparently this is not a problem. I also had to pay 60,000won for the privilege
The form can be downloaded:
http://www.moj.go.kr/immi/08_english/01_introduction/rev01_f.html
(Alteration/Addition of workplace)
You also need a copy of the contract, camp details and permission letter (for E-2 anyway). |

Thanks guys, I`m currently on a F-2-1 visa (marriage to a Korean) and currently unemployed, so no need for letter of release. I`ll be taking my Passport, Degree, Transcript and ARC just incase. |

I just went this morning with my wife. Bring your passport, Alien card, contract, diploma and schedule. There is Form called "Application Form" Shin Jong So(Sorry no Korean Script on my laptop). Fill it out. Present it to an immigration officer with a thirty thousand won stamp and you are oout of there within half an hour.
That's all it took us this morning |

Went to Busan Immigration today and total confusion as expected. I`m currently unemployed on an F-2-1 visa so I wantd to do the Camp but when the clerk looked into her (old) rules book, there was no F-2-1 visa on the list, still they are unsure of this visa.
So she said she would have to go through the same process of E-2 and that could take ten days, which I was starting on Monday. Also, the forms that I gave them (contract and other forms you need for Winter Camps) they said were one page short (which I contacted the person involved and he said the other forms he gave to other people didn`t create such a problem). Anyway, after much fuss and bother and needless wasted time, they said they could get it done on Tuesday and I could start the Winter Camp (they said the Busan office takes three days to process and the Seoul office takes only a day, WHY the difference).
After paying the 30,000won fee I can hopefully get the winter camp visa. Immigration, BUNCH OF CLOWNS. |
