|
|
I've bought a computer and have started copying my music CDs. However, I've noticed that when doing this, the burnt CD puts in a gap of a second or so between each track. This may not sound much but completely murders the continuity of albums that are meant to flow.
Does anybody know if there's a way to copy CDs without this annoying break?
Thanks. |

Post the name of the program you are using to burn, and I'm sure someone will give you exact instructions.
However, in the meantime, there is probably a setting somewhere that allows you to choose the duration of the pause between tracks. Look for that, set it to zero. |

I'm just using Windows Media Player, I think. It comes up automatically when I put the CD in. I'm far from computer literate, unfortunately, but I couldn't find anything relating to the pause, and couldn't find anything in the help section either. |

I couldn't find anything in Media Player either that would help you; Then again, I don't rip or copy using WMP and I would suggest that if you want more control you shouldn't either. WinMX and Music Match Jukebox both are good and both have free versions.

If you are just doing straight copying of CDs then you are probably better off using Nero or Roxio and selecting the 'copy disk' function. |

Bulsajo is spot on. Never use WMP for ripping or burning.
Nero has an .mp3 plug-in for making audio CDs. Nero also lets you "eliminate silence at the end of audio tracks". Otherwise, as Bulsajo said, just hit "copy disk".
Nero isn't free however. |

Actually, the problem is that you need to copy the CD in "Disc at Once" mode. If you copy in this mode it will eliminate the 2 second gap.
Oh, and use something decent like Nero or Roxio, not Media Player. |
