Just got back from a couple of hours at Omokgyo immigration, with a new 2 year F2 visa and a two year E2 visa. My contract that I showed them was for 2 years and my wife asked if perchance I could get the E2 visa for a smiliar time to save time having to extend again. No problems they said and 20 minutes later had my passport stamped and card updated.
It surprised me no end because I had no idea that I could get an E2 for two years, saves both time and money. My card now says that my E2 expires in feb, 2007, scary stuff. |

| No surprise at all. We all know there are no rules at immigration. Its all up to the officer that you talk to. If they think it makes sense and is kinda legal, why the hell not. |

Immigration's lack of standards is pathetic.
This time it seems to have worked out in your favor. If you didn't have an F2, and were tied to a school without release, it would be scary. |

| Yeah I certainly wouldn't have wanted a two year visa if I didn't have an F2 and didn't have a sweet job. The thing is, I only had to pay the application fees once for both visas, rather than having them doubled. The guy also consulted a rule book to confirm it was Okay |
