If you've been a member of this board for more than 5 minutes, you know the story of the infamous SLP Nowon (in Jungye dong). No need to recount all the evil deeds which occured at this trans-dimensional portal to hell. A quick search should satisfy the curious.

But now it's history, or more precisely, legend. I noticed a disturbance in the force a while back (light side shift) but never could pin its origins down. Now I've discovered the source and I'm quite pleased to see that this blight on the face of our lovely Nowon has been wiped clean.

And in its place? Another English hogwon, naturally. Name? TOSS. No. Seriously. I couldn't make that s**t up if I wanted to. What a PERFECTLY FITTING name for a hogwon.

TOSS, as in, the kids who attend this school don't GIVE A TOSS about learning English.

Game. Set. Match.

There's a Toss in Bundang, too. Anyone know if it's a new chain, or if an old chain decided to change its name (which is not a new tactic)?

Sorry to disappoint you but SLP Nowon lives. They just have a new home. They've moved to the building across from Sweetree restaurant.

I'm not sure what Toss is but the last time I went to the health club (same bldg as Toss) there were a bunch of mothers coming out of the elevator with Toss DVD players in their arms. Whatever their gimmick they've sunk a lot of money into it.

Good call dutchman. Yes, Nowon SLP does live on; all they've done is relocate to better lodgings. No change in ownership or management from what I hear.

Silly but let's guess what TOSS might mean.

Those obnoxious spoiled students?

The owner shafts suckers?

Then let this serve as a warning to the unwary. If you take a job at this place, it's on YOUR OWN HEAD. Sad

When did you work there and for how long? A friend of mine did some time and really enjoyed himself but I do believe he was in the MINORITY.
