ok, next question:
I know my way around the Yong-san mart area fairly well (know the major landmarks) - where is the area i have heard about where the used laptops for under $500 are sold???
Easy directions or a marking on an overhead map would be great. I usually come up & out through Shinyongsan Station.
Regards,
G. |

Any places to get stuff for Macs? Seems like Korea is pretty PC dominated, but I'd think there'd be Mac stuff too, since Samsung makes a lot of their parts? |

alright, I'm ridiculously unknowledgable about all this converter/adapter and voltage stuff. So go ahead and laugh, but still please help while you're here. lol.
Well I have a HP Pavilion and my plug has the 2 blades & 1 rounding pin. I'm at a PCbang right now so I don't remember the voltage of my charger. If you need to know the voltage i can come back tomorrow to the PCbang and let you guys know. But in the meantime, if this is enough info. can someone give me a specific location and let me know what to specifically look for?
I went to Emart, but they only had a converter for the 2blade plugs. And I'm not too familiar with Seoul yet so i dunno where to go next. Thanks guys. |

Nope. There's an Apple store at COEX and some electronics stores sell Macs, but as far as accessories and software goes, buy it at home. Especially if you're outside of Seoul. |

I need a new laptop, and I'm pretty sure I want to get a Dell Latitude
The Dell outlet has good prices for refurbished laptops... but now that the won is doing so poorly against the US dollar, would i end up spending more money having it shipped? Does anyone know what the current price of a new dell in Korea is, in won - or where I could find that out?
Thanks |

Home plus has Dell computers. One is about 1mil and the other one is 1.5 mil. They told me that I could not get an English operating system for a Dell that they sold.
They said that only Samsung and Hp could have English Vista installed. |

Just get an English XP or Vista CD and reformat and reinstall when you get the computer. I'd recommend reformatting any new Dell you buy, anyway. They come with a lot of garbage on them. |

Hi there,
I'm thinking of buying the above laptop from icoda. I don'y know much about computers, but at W682,500 it looks reasonable.
Does anyone have any info regarding MSI or icoda.
Would you recommend any alternatives? |

I have found laptops to be significantly less expensive in North America. The competition at Yongsan is not all that great; the retailers all work together and gouge equally, in my opinion. |

i'm going to bring my american laptop with me when i go to korea. my only concern is whether or not i will have a problem getting an internet connection hooked up. the obvious answer would seem to be 'no,' but i just wanted some confirmation on this. |
