According to the readers of "Global Traveler Magazine" it is.
#1 Incheon, South Korea
#2 Changi, Singapore
#3 Hong Kong International
Best in the US was Boston's O'Hare

i find that amazing... incheon has nothing in comparison to changi. yu can almost live at changi - there are so many good restaurants and shops and even sleeping rooms yu can hire very cheaply... incheon has a couple of overproced eateries, a poor selection of expensive duty free and nowhere to sleep...
brussells has a very nice airport. so has dubai.
but changi rules. |

So the top three are all in Asia? How much global travel do these readers do?
My favourite is Schiphol Amsterdam. Though the relaxing park and pacific-experience arrivals walkway built into Vancouver's have it contending. Port-of-Spain gets honourable mention for making me feel like I was in a '60s James Bond movie.
Worst? Charles-de-Gaulle. |

While I'll admit it's nice, I'll say it again.....how good can an airport be where the international and domestic terminals are a 45 minute bus ride apart....?
No way is it better than HGK or Changi though. Never in a million years. |

I remember just after Incheon was built, I read a newspaper article that said it had over 50 spelling mistakes in the signs. |

hmmm, don't know about Changi, but HK was a big disappointment and my preference is Incheon.
As to Paris airports: agreed, although I do have a soft spot for terminal 1 at Roissy (Charles de Gaulle).
Amsterdam is up there with the best.
US airports are a mixed bag: Nashville and San Diego? - both sweet. Los Angeles - I shall avoid at all costs. Washington? didn't see enough. Dallas? OK, at least there was an excellent beer on offer, and the lady in the line was so rivetted by my accent she said "Keep talking" ... I asked what, she said "I don't care, just talk and talk and talk" (Didn't buy my beer though).
San Francisco was OK, and again a decent beer on offer. |

Incheon is very clean, and mosern, but one would expect that from a recently built airport. Best in the world? Not sure about that. |

I think I've got a pretty good idea how it won:

Dubai is my all time fav.
Incheon is spacious and clean but gawd damn they have to do something about Koreans lining up in the Non-Korean lines at immigration. Nothing burns my ass more than looking in front of me and seeing a 15 person deep line; all of them korean and all of them with their Korean passports in hand oblivious to the huge, yellow sign saying "Non-Korean Residents." |

I think Incheon is great. It is a simple design. Everything happens in a straight line.
How many levels it has freaked me out, though. I was looking for my bus, and then realized there are like five levels of bus lanes. |

Incheon is very easy to navigate. But then, how many people are using it compared to JFK, Heathrow, Narita... Could be it's under-used so it seems so spacious and easy to use. As said above Incheon doesn't really offer anything more than Burgerking and standard duty-free. No imaginative touches at all which is surprising as Koreans are well known for their creativity...
My favorite? Haven't been to that many. I know I hate the really mind-bogglingly busy ones like Heathrow where there are terminal transfers and such like.
Spent 2 hours in the immigration line at Vancouver and another time at Vancouver I had an anal cavity search (long story) so that rules out Van.
I like landing at Osaka. Cool low-level turns over the water. |

2 hours in immigration line. You're not serious, are you? What's wrong with that airport/city/country? |
