SNU No.1 Foreign University Producing U.S. PhD Holders

Seeing how much Korean unis are knocked (often rightly so) for being so lax and generous, and advanced degrees from Korean unis are generally laughed at here at Dave's, I'm curious as to the reaction to Korea having made such a substantial contribution to producing PhD grads from American universities, implying both effort and ability in comparison with doctoral degrees granted at Korean universities. A lot of those grads much be teaching in Korean universities, to boot.

Of course, based on experience I'm guessing many of them are in Math, the Sciences and Engineering, and relatively few in English...

And Computer gaming...I wonder how many of them did their doctoral thesis on the advantages of playing Starcraft for 28 hours straight.

It's because Koreans see only American degrees as worth getting.

SNU grads are already on a mission. They'll cheat their way to graduating from American universities, too.

It's been estimated that 80% of SNU grads go on to graduate school, mostly abroad. Wow. I hear a lot of Harvard grads do the same, but within the US.

I'm shocked that Real Reality wasn't first to post this.
