2007 at the earliest. Probably more like 2227. |

No, it is supposed to be completed this year- according to what I heard from city officials last year. I was wondering what month.
I suppose we need some sort of signal for when a question is sincere, and when it is trolling for Korea bashing.
To be clear- this is a sincere question for information. And I will accordingly take it to the Q and A board. I forgot, General Discussion is too often the General Korea Bashing board.
Thorin- by the way, if your reply was not meant as bashing, please don't take the above personally. I really sincerely want to know what month it is scheduled to open. |

Yes, but the city officials have been saying all along this year. It was initially schedule for completion for 2006 but they have been saying for at least a year that it would be completed in 2005.
If Thorin is right, I will be sad. I have been waiting for two years. |

Various Koreans have told me it would open this year, but none had any idea exactly when that would be. I've noticed that some of the new stops are looking, superficially, close to ready.
My better senses tell me, however, that we may be looking at something close to 2006 before we have a functioning second line in Daegu. |

i've noticed a lot of stairways completed and heat ducts/tiles going in.
those components are among the last to be added in construction. |

Is this the line that was supposed to be ready for World Cup '02, but partially collapsed during construction? |

Yes, a lot of the stairways are in and the heating ducts are going in too. Also, when you go through Banwoldang to Jungangno, the transfer station is completed and all lit up, so I would think that it will be ready soon.

It looks like they are pulling things together on the siji line as well,
I'd imagine that the stairs and outer railing etc ... would be the last thing that you'd do.
Since you don't want builders dragging their muddy boots an heavy equipment along your flat stone stairs ...
I'd give it a few months max ...
but then you'd never know, |

This guy obviously doesn't know how fast koreans like to build things.
This date would be more typical of something built by a union in the west. |

This guy obviously doesn't know how long we've been waiting for the magical 2nd line to open. They're saying September 2005 now. |
