| Pluses of Busan include much better weather, great scenery, beaches, great little Texas Town with women that actually strip (oolala), a Russian community (always interesting), and I guess thats about it. |

| Serious question and not flame bait. Koreans have told me that Pusan ladies are the best looking in Korea. I have also noticed that disproportionate numbers of the Korean lookers I have met have also been from Pusan. Can someone who has lived in Pusan and Seoul comment on this? |

Yes, TB. I may not agree with your politics, but I do agree with your choice of destinations and ladies. Russians, and other Eastern-Europeans put EVERYONE else to shame in the drinking stakes...
Just say SLIVOVITZ (or PALINKA, the stronger Romanian home brew)
Never blacked-out as fast, although the quantity of "Stop" signs pulled-down that night was remarkable... |

I'll try.
I lived in Pusan (when it was spelled with a "P") in 1996-1997. The girls at that time had to keep their haircut in High School.. and as soon as they got out, they just let it grow and kept long hair until they got married. They also wore micro miniskirts and really tight jeans all the time. They were stunningly tall, gorgeous, cheekbones, long hair, just looked like models everywhere.
When I moved back to Korea and to Seoul in 2000.. all the girls there seemed to turn collegiate. Crop the hair shoulder-length.. switch to those college knee-length baggy-like pants.. complete with the little collegiate sweater..  I didn't like it.
I still haven't quite figured out if all of Korea changed.. or just that I was in 2 different cities with really different looking women. |

The women seem the same in Seoul and Busan. The hotties are hotties, and the dogs are dogs.
Busan has its beaches, but Seoul has its big city feel. Undecided. |

I moved to Geoje Island in 2002 to be close to Busan, yet get the small town feel.
Now I still like Busan, even though it has a much colder wind than the island, and the beaches aren't as necessary (Geoje has tons of great swimming, scenic, sandy beaches).
I'll keep on going to Nampodong on a Saturday night sometimes, to Sameon Sundays to shop, to the university and Russian areas for drinks and stuff. I have yet to hike the mountains thereabouts, but I'm sure I will.
The best part of Busan in 2005 for me will be the overnight ferry to Shimoniseki to make a couple of more jaunts to Japan. And the film festival, if I finally catch some of it after a few years of near misses. |

The Film Festival is great. I was living there for the 1st one. It was a great treat at the time as well.
Just curious, how much is the ferry now from Busan to Fukuoka and back? And how late does it leave on a Friday and how late does it come back on a Sunday? |

Busan is a great place--when I was there I wouldn't have traded living in Haeundae with anywhere else in Korea.

I remember that, and the change in 2000. Bleah. When the high school girls dressed up in their minis and boots on the weekend, the only way to tell some of them apart from the young college girls was the telltale short haircut. |

| The women from Busan look like mutants, but there is much less air pollution than there is in Seoul, so I'm at a loss for the cause. |

Tiger Beer a return ticket on the ferry is about 150 bucks.Unfortunately there is no late ferry.There are two companies running ferries at the moment and I think the last boat from both Busan and Fukuoka leaves around two.
I'm surprised at the 'bigging' up of Busan women though...I've always heard the best women were from Daegu. |

Daegu and Busan people in general have always struck me as almost the same. The thinking, the conservativism, the strong adherence to traditional thought, etc. |
