I've tried searching - so apologies in advance if this has been answered.

It looks like I have a job for when I plan to return to Korea next month. They are ewager for me to sort out my visa before I arrive for obvious reasons.

Could someone please point me in the right direction. What is the procedure for this? How long does it usually take?

cheers

If the school can't tell you what to do- that might be a warning sign, but anyway.

Send the school, or your recruiter your degree( or a notarized copy), resume, and a copy of the info page from your passport.

In a couple of weeks, they'll send back what's known as the blue paper or Assurance of Visa Issuance certificate

You take that, your passport and some money ( not sure how much) to the nearest Korean consulate, and a day or two later, you're good to go.

it was £35 last time I got my visa. the time it has taken has varied between 2 working days and 4 hours! On the visa information document you can get emailed from them it has all the details though the official line is 5 working days no exceptions!

The most important thing is the blue letter once you have got that you're good to go. The only other expense is prior to the visa you need to send your degree and possibly your transcript (not sute if they accept notarised ones these days) via courier which is quite expensive.

Hakwons want you to do it in the UK simply because it is costing you money to get it sorted out rather than costing them money to sort it out.
