According to the Korea Herald the "Seoul English Village" (a kind of camp with English immersion) opened today. What do people think of this idea? Also, what kind of chance would a person have of getting a job there? (What qualifications would be needed?)

I'm not looking for work at the moment, I'm a student....just curious if anyone has any insider knowledge (or knows anything about this at all, for that matter).

I saw positions advertised there and, while I don't remember the details, I remember thinking "no chance".

... my thoughts exactly.

I was under the impression it had opened a while ago, I remember reading a five page 'discussion' in that bastion of integrity we know as the Korean Hearld.

The headlines ran along the lines of 'children crying because they don't want to go home'. Teachers were picked in a 'careful selection process', only those with 'outgoing personalities' and '100% comittment to the job' were lucky enough to be selected. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I was helping a team that got out bid on that project. No way it is going to work. All it is, another oversized hagwon that only cares about making money. In compaing our idea to what they have done (and our tuition price was half theirs) I firmly believe that someone slid some cash to the city people that "judged" the bids.

I read about a plan for one in Paju as well. Anyone have knowledge on that idea? It was in the paper, I think around a year ago.
