Hey I need some advice,

I was gonna get a PDA, but the lingo on the review sites is makng my head spin.
I want a camera, good organizer with in depth notes, MP3, and wireless interent.

Suggestions?

I really miss being able to walk into the local future shop and pick the brains of sales guys..... as opposed to going into Youngsan looking stupdi and them trying to pick your pocket.

The first choice is which OS to go with. I prefer the Palm OS though this is because I want a PDA not a very small laptop. I will not argue that Palm OS is less powerful than WinCE but Palm powered devices can be made smaller cheaper and have better battery than the Win CE competitiors. Palm OS is also very resilient to crashes, it needs a reset every so often but usually no data is lost, if the data is lost on the PDA for some reason, then I can re-sync and rebuild all of my data quickly and easily, something I am led to believe is much harder with Win CE. I've been very happy with my palm but I know others who love their pocket PCs (its one of those daddy/chips) choices. Just my 2c anyway...

I will agree, very happy with Palm OS. Not so happy with my screen that is 8% dead, but that was only after dropping it numerous times. (And of course 2 months after the service plan expired!)

Mine is a Handspring, which is no longer an option, but still quite happy with it.

My iPAQ reset itself twice without my prompting losing me all of my data that wasn't on the memory card. Pain in the butt. So, I updated the BIOS to see if that would fix it. Or at least I tried to,... it crashed midway through and never recovered. It is in a coma in an HP workshop somewhere. THey refuse to fix it for free despite it being within warranty because the BIOS crash was my fault (they say) They are happily ignoring the fact that there was a fault in the machine prior to my update attempt.

I'll keep this year's resolution for sure: no more HP products in my life. Evil or Very Mad

All my GSM phones and therefore PDAs are Symbian OS (unsurprisingly, given that's who I work for). For the things you want to do the Nokia 9500 is the only choice of Symbian device, but give up wireless internet (that is, WiFi - I get wireless internet around my flat via Bluetooth) and you can get a funky phone (with the advantage of actually using it as a phone when you're in GSM range) which will do most else of everything you want.

It's a shame most Americans haven't heard of Symbian. Not my job to fix, though.
