I heard a rumour that the price of smokes was going up 500 won across the board at midnight tonight. Does anyone have the skinny on this?

either way, I have about half an hour before the price is supposed to go up so I'm gonna buy a couple of packs. I mean, it's not like 10 bucks a pack like home.

I hope they go up 50 000 won.

I'm trying to get the honeybun to stop smoking. 500 won won't convince her either way.

I think the banks in Canada should start offering loans to smokers. How much is a pack now, like $17?

Oh, so that's why they were suddenly 500 more. If boxes are still cheap I'm buying some tonight, too.

Personally, I wish that they were like 20,000 won a pack, so that I would have outside interference to help me quit.

damn straight! It's the one thing about my girlfriend that I don't like. She smokes, but is cutting back. After I quit last May, I told her, no smoking around me. But it's been annoying for her so I told her you can smoke around me all you like, I couldn't care less, but not in the apartment.

She now thinks this is carte blanche for her to smoke! But then she asked...'if I won't quit, will you break up with me?' I told her no, but I'm not ever going to marry you if you smoke, so if you want to get married (and she does), you have to quit.

She says she'll quit by May or June. We'll see.

I've gotten two girlfriends to quit smoking before. It put me in a foul mood, or I would pretend to be in one when they did. Of course they both started up again after I decided to break up.

Thats the first time I've heard a smoker say that -- good for you. anyway, I thought you said you have allergies... quitting would make a world of difference healthwise quite quickly for you, wouldn't it?

Anyway, I wish all you smokers luck in quitting in 2005. You know you want to....
