I've decided to try big city living in Korea for my 2nd contract. Should I live in Seoul or Busan? I tend to be a "nature" type person, so maybe this question is an oxymoron. |

If I had to choose between the two, it would be Busan, no doubt about it. Last time I visited, I was so impressed with the work that has been done to modernize Pusan, I've given some thought to moving there. It has everything you could wish for in Seoul, but it's much less crowded, it's cleaner, and the Pusanites seem pretty laid back. |

Busan in a heartbeat.
Beautiful city, great beaches, everything Seoul has and much less of the crap. Only 3 hours away from Seoul via bullet train.
Seriously considering working there myself |

Leave Seoul for the Seoulites.
Head to Busan or somewhere else. |

The difference between Seoul and Busan is like apples and oranges.
I lived in both places. I certainly made more money living in Seoul, but I enjoyed myself more in Busan.
If your primary goal is money, I would suggest Seoul. If you just want a job and want to continue living, a somewhat normal life, then choose Busan. |

I lived in both Busan & Seoul. I will have always said Seoul in the past.. but re-thinking that now.
I personally like Seoul people a lot more.. they are more international-oriented and such. Busan people are much more provincial.
What I do like about Busan is cooler summers, milder winters, beaches, and mountains. If you like being outdoors, Busan just always has the advantage of weather in whatever season. Plus because of the mountains and beaches, it has a lot more accessable sites to visit nearby.
At this point, I wouldn't living in Busan again myself if an opportunity came up for it. |

If you're the type of person who likes to go out every weekend and party and likes, prog, house, breaks, drum & bass, trance etc. you HAVE to go to Seoul. Busan is ass most of the time for music and party scene. Some okay breaks DJ's but mostly crappy hip hop & top 40. If you're more laid back and just like to chill or do daytime things than Busan would be way better I'd say. |

if you're happy with the fact you need to get on a train to find a supermarket, by all means move to Busan.
However Seoul rules all, and there are tonnes of mountains a subway ride away. |
