The eyes are the best part. Yum. And good for stamina, of course |

Today I was eating my dinner when I realized how long I've been here. I barely even thought twice about eating the anchovy side dish with eyes in tact, the full size mackerel with the head still on it, and the little shrimp in my soup with the eyes in tact.

It can be a little un-nerving when that eye actually winks at you!!! And the fins are still flapping yet you are eating the raw flesh from its body!
This happened to me in Sokcho. The restaurant was very proud of how fresh they serve their sassimi.
I managed a couple of chunks but kept on thinking...."stop looking at me! I'm sorry!". |

Hahahahaha... don't apologise, he clearly had it coming... lazy, layabout seafood (that's why we call 'em 'seafood'). |

Food? No. Koreans who look in my cart? Yes. Sometimes I feel like telling them that there is a special place for us foreigners; what do they expect to see in our carts? |

I figure they're looking to see a magical food that'll make their eyes wider and their hair lighter.
I swear if you could convince one Korean person that (insert obscene product of your choice) brought longevity and stamina and you imprted the stuff you'd be a muti-millionaire over night.

Staring is fine, when the food fights back is where I draw the line.
Saeng nakji is fun to play with but I wouldn't actually eat the stuff. |
