|
|
Now, before you guys start referring me to the past strings in this forum, I just want to say that I've looked at every string with the words 'credit card'.
I've tried calling Samsung Card (both the number listed here and the regular number) and I've tried a countless number of banks...
Anyone have any fool-proof ways of getting a credit card? It would make my life alot easier and also I can stop using my mom's credit card... hahaha.
p.s. If it matters, I'm a gyopo on a F4 visa.
Thanks~ |

Chronic, do you happen to have a link to "all the stuff that Dogbert has dished out"?
I have one credit card from my main business bank, and I've been offered another by a bank we've borrowed from, though I didn't need a second one. |

Actually, the thread that I was thinking of was already in the FAQ: http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=21559 |

You could start with speaking English instead of Konglish. You don't make the credit card, the bank does. I had no problems getting one from Samsung card, why do you? |

*GGRRR* Tell me about it...my otherwise wonderful fiance insists on saying "make the dishes" and she said it long before we came to Korea.
It drives me mad!!!!
(mind you I would rather make 'em than wash 'em) |

As an update, I've noticed that there has been a definite trend among domestic banks during the past few months to require that foreigners have a Korean guarantor before being issued a credit card, or at the time of renewal, if there were no guarantor before. Credit limits have also been reduced for many cardholders. However, again like immigration, chances are that whoever reviews your application does not know "the rules" 100% and therefore YMMV. |
