I make one type of puzzle (called "figgerits" in puzzledom).
First make a sentence of 30-40 letters or so. Number the letters.
Use the letters to make words. You can repeat letters. Put the words into hints (number the letters). The solver works back and forth between clues and the sentence.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
12345 678 9101112 25
Clue: Children like to _ _ _ _ games.
13 25 6 12
(just make it neater) |

check out puzzlemaker.com they have some great puzzles that are easy to make. You can put in your own vocabulary and make your own puzzles.
For premade wordsearch puzzles go to thepotters.com and check out Johns wordsearch puzzles....there are hundreds if not thousands of puzzles there covering a wide range of topics.
Just the thing to fill in some extra time or reward your students. |
