due to a series of events which i've posted in another thread, i have to go on a visa run which could take anywhere from a few days to a week or so. what is the cheapest option available, after taking into consideration the cost of the flight, and the cost of living (modestly) for such an amount of time? |

Does it have to take a minimum of a few days? If you're willing to do it in one day, I think the one-day Osaka run would be cheaper than anything else, because as long as you're not paying for a hotel, you only have to pay for the flight and transportation to and from the airport. Even if you can stay a lot more cheaply in Bangkok or Taipei, I don't think it matters because the flight down there will be so much more expensive. |

In that case I'd say Bangkok if you can get a good deal on a plane ticket. Taipei might be a bit cheaper to get to, but hotels and other expenses are more expensive there. |

You could go to Japan by boat and stay at what is the equivalent of the Korean JimJjilbang (24 hours saunas type bath place). I am told it is very cheap. |
