I was clicking my heels at Dohwa station today waiting for the train to arrive and looked at their culture info board.

On it I saw something called the Asan Prehistoric Village. Peaked my interest, but my Lonely Planet has nothing on it. Anyone been?

The only thing I can think of is the Oeam Folk Village about 10 mins outside of Asan. Pretty nice there, actually. You can find out about it here. I reckon Prehistoric Village is a classic bit of mis-translation.

Aww the archeologist in me was hoping for ruins of some sort. Still it looks pretty neat. I'll head there next time i'm over that way.

Thanks for the info!

I see artifact #537 is a half-sunken pillar from the ruins of a temple during the Chosun era, and that's located in Ansan.

Is that on the pink line? I went there once and was disappointed about as much as one can be. There is nothing there worth beans. It was my sister's idea to go there and we razzed her mercilessly after seeing that place. All that is there is a shallow hole (from a dig) with nothing in it anymore. There are pictures of what was there. Then there are a few sample dwellings (pit dwellings, I believe). All very phony looking.

Asan and ANsan aren't even close to each other...nor are ANyang and ONyang (the other name for Asan!)

It could be that you saw an ad for Oeam (pronounced "We-ahm) Folk Village (see here: http://english.tour2korea.com/03Sightseeing/DestinationsByThemes/Depth04.asp?sight=Sightseeing&sightseeing_id=240&ADDRESS_1=38693&ADDRESS_2=37219&ThemeCode=Sightseeing_11&kosm=m3_2,)

or maybe it was for the home of Admiral Sun-Shin Yi, who was the builder of the "Turtle Boat", famous in Korean history. His home and museum are pretty nice.
