More than enough, considering that
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS DELETE SOME OF THE CRAPPY PICS YOU TOOK OFF OF THE CARD TO FREE UP MORE SPACE.
What, you don't take crappy pics?
Or you are going to fill up 1GB worth of pics before being able to upload to a pc?
I think 1GB and above is overkill unless you are a pro or tend go on long Safari adventures.
That's my opinion, convince me otherwise. |

you got to a trip to italy or thailand.. for 10 days..
a 256 will be full in one day in rome!
how can you upload those pics to your pc when your half way across the world! ???
same as thailand.. sure you could go to a pc room. but what you gonna do there,, email yourself 200 pics?
upload to the web? we all dont have blogs... and its a hassle..
I would rather just have them all sitting on one card..
or by a portable HDD which can be carried with you with a USB upload your pics into that everynight then 128 or 256 is plenty! |

What is cool about the card/camera is that they can double as a video camera. The video streams onto the drive al the way until it is full.
Also, I can bring it to other computers and use it as a portable HD.
It was expensive, but I use it everyday. I record the classes that cause me trouble in order to show the parents how their child is acting.

I just bought a Canon A85 - and added 256MB card. I can fit like, 230 "Large, Fine" pictures on it, which is enough for me. Half as many "superfine, Large" pictures...
Benefits of a smaller card include the fact that there are less pictures on that card to lose. I'd rather lose 256MB of photos, than 1GB of photos due to a corrupted file. Working in a photo shop, I've seen enough corrupted files that screw up the card, so I'm pretty leery. When it's full, I can burn them to a CD or upload them to the Internet.
Plus, if I'm out at a bar or anything, I don't need the super high quality for "drunken party picturse". I mean, who really prints drunken party photos out larger than 4x6? |

Do people ever mistake you for a Japanese tourist, what with your camera crazy-glued to your face 24/7 and all? |

256mb can get you 315 pics at 1600X1200 @ normal quality. Big enough for any future printing. Or indeed, 10 days in Rome. I keep my old 64mb card for a back-up.
Which leads me on to the fact that I've been using digital cameras for two years now and I've yet to print any picture or feel the need at all. |
